PROYECTO LINGÃœISTICO: FRANCISCO MARROQUIN (PLFM)
The P.L.F.M. founded in 1969; was opened with two aims which remains to this day:Teaching the Spanish language and Teaching , investigating and preserving the Mayan languages and culture.
With 39 years of experience, P.L.F.M. is the oldest Spanish language school in Antigua, unique because it is non-profit and is run by native Mayan professionals. It is authorized by the Guatemalan Ministry of Education and its Spanish School is licensed by INGUAT, The Guatemalan Tourist Institute.
In PLFM, all teachers are native Spanish speakers. Specialized in teaching of Spanish as a second language by the School of Language Sciences at the University of San Carlos de Guatemala, whose training is updated every 6 months. The teachers of the Mayan languages are experienced in the PLFM method.  Normally students change teachers every week but you may request the same teacher for an additional week.
HOST FAMILIES ACCOMMODATIONS
The P.L.F.M. provides the service accommodation with host families (optional). These families are carefully selected in advance with the main purpose of practicing Spanish. We suggest you live with a local family and actually have a full immersion, the family service is from Monday through Saturday 3 meals a day, on Sunday they provide no food service.
Rate US$ 82.00 per week per student
With private bath: US$ 100.00 per week per student.
Pick up service: PLFM can provide transport from Guatemala city airport to your host family or hotel, if arranged in advance.
PROGRAM
We offer study program that cover all grammar and structure patterns for a total of 13 weeks, divided into the following levels:

Planning a program of study: Program length is flexible. Some students study for as little as one week.  We recommend a minimum of four weeks. This will depend on the interest or needs of each student.
Reservations: We recommend reserving your space. You should enroll on a Monday through Friday schedule, but alternate arrangements are possible if made in advance. Classes fill early for the period between mid-May and August. Contact us directly via email, telephone, or fax. We will confirm your reservation by return mail, or advise you of alternative dates if your first choice is not available. If you must cancel, please contact us quickly.
FEES
P.L.F.M. accepts payment in US cash or local currency, by personal check drawn on a US bank, or by traveler’s checks. Credit cards are not accepted. Checks must be made payable to Fundación P.L.F.M.

*The schedules included a break of 30 minutes , in the morning and afternoon.
The rates are adjusted during Holy week, Christmas and New Years Only, or if two holidays are in the same week.
